Powernow startete fΓΌr den Box-Club Gifhorn.cite-ref-1[1] Er ist Deutscher Meister im Schwergewicht der Jahre 2000cite-ref-2[2], 2004cite-ref-3[3], 2005cite-ref-4[4], 2006cite-ref-5[5] und 2007cite-ref-6[6], zudem wurde er Vizemeister 2003cite-ref-7[7] und 2009cite-ref-8[8]. 2002 gewann er Bronze.cite-ref-9[9] Ihm gelangen unter anderem Siege gegen Steffen Kretschmann, Konstantin Airich, Stefan KΓΆber, Lukas Schulz, Vitali Boot und Johann Witt.

Beim prestigetrΓ€chtigen Chemiepokal in Halle (Saale) gewann er 2005cite-ref-10[10], 2006cite-ref-11[11] und 2007cite-ref-12[12] die Goldmedaille, 2003cite-ref-13[13] und 2011cite-ref-14[14] die Silbermedaille, sowie 2001cite-ref-15[15] und 2004cite-ref-16[16] jeweils eine Bronzemedaille. Er besiegte dabei unter anderem Bahram Muzaffer, Brad Pitt, JΓ³zsef Darmos, Yoan Pablo HernΓ‘ndez und Kubrat Pulew.

Bei der Europameisterschaft 2004 in Pula unterlag er in der Vorrunde gegen Kubrat Pulewcite-ref-17[17], gewann jedoch nach einer Halbfinalniederlage gegen Clemente Russo eine Bronzemedaille bei der EU-Meisterschaft 2005 in Cagliari.cite-ref-18[18] Sein grâßter Erfolg war der Gewinn einer Bronzemedaille bei der Weltmeisterschaft 2005 in Mianyang; nach Siegen gegen Vedran Đipalo, Beka Lobjanidze und Luis Ortiz, war er erst im Halbfinale gegen Alexander Alexejew ausgeschieden.cite-ref-19[19]

Eine weitere Bronzemedaille gewann er 2006 bei der Europameisterschaft in Plowdiw, als er nach Siegen gegen Δ°hsan YΔ±ldΔ±rΔ±m Tarhan und Clemente Russo, im Halbfinale gegen Roman Romantschuk unterlegen war.cite-ref-20[20] Bei der Weltmeisterschaft 2007 in Chicago besiegte er Bogdan Dinu und Krzysztof Zimnoch, ehe er im Achtelfinale wieder gegen Clemente Russo verlor.cite-ref-21[21]

2008 nahm er an den europΓ€ischen Olympia-Qualifikationsturnieren in Pescara und Athen teil, wo er einmal im Viertelfinale gegen Artur Szpilkacite-ref-22[22] und einmal im Achtelfinale gegen Elchin Alizade ausschied.cite-ref-23[23]

2011 startete er bei der Weltmeisterschaft in Baku, unterlag jedoch im Achtelfinale gegen Wassili Lewit.cite-ref-24[24] Zudem boxte er 2011/12 fΓΌr das deutsche Team Leipzig Leopards in der World Series of Boxing.cite-ref-25[25]
